Ben Smith

Ben Smith

Manager

Specialist areas of interest:

Injury rehabilitation, Weight loss, Strength Training

A little background:

As a Sports Therapist and Personal Trainer, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a huge range of people from elite level sportsmen and women, to individuals recovering from injury or surgery and everyone in between. I have a qualification in Sports Massage and a passion for this profession. I have previous managerial experience and have worked within the fitness industry since 2013.

How I enjoy training personally:

I enjoy a wide range of training with a love/hate relationship with cardio! You’ll often find me experimenting with different techniques and ways to train in order to improve my skills and the services we offer. I find I most enjoy working on my fitness whilst walking my dog, canoeing and training at True.

My role at True:

As Manager my main responsibility is making the magic happen behind the scenes, however you will often find me on the floor encouraging you to make that extra rep or last push to a new personal best. I am passionate about True, its members and our fantastic team. If you ever have any
questions or need a helping hand, please feel free to get in touch.

Luke Fitch

Luke Fitch

Lead Personal Trainer

Specialist areas of interest:

Muscle gain, fat loss, resistance and strength training

A little background:

I qualified as a personal trainer in 2019, swapping the tax sheets for a set of dumbbells after originally working in accounting and finance.
“You can create a lot of meaning in your own life by helping someone else do something that is meaningful for them”
The above quote sums up why I decided to make the career change.
Since then, I have not looked back, and still share the same passion as when I first entered this industry in helping people train effectively and have fun whilst doing it!

How I enjoy training personally:

A 1-hour date with the Airdyne. Joking, I’m not crazy, resistance training is my jam!

My role at True:

I am very excited to help all our fantastic members in reaching their goals. I will be leading our shared personal training services as well as working more closely with our 1:1 clients. I also run our True Coach programmes and 8-week lifestyle course. I shall see you on the gym floor!

Edmund Pang

Edmund Pang

Senior Personal Trainer and Sports Massage & Soft Tissue Therapist

Specialist areas of interest:

Corrective and Rehabilitative Exercise Therapy & Calisthenics

A little background:

With a background in corrective and rehabilitative exercise, I have since trained in sports massage and remedial soft tissue therapy. These compliment each other very well, enabling me to work with clients from both an exercise and soft tissue perspective, increasing the effectiveness of rehabilitation, accelerating recovery. Personally my own training consists predominately of gymnastic/calisthenic training and yoga.

How I enjoy training personally:

For me it’s all about Gymnastic and Calisthenic training.

My role at True:

My role at True is that of Personal Trainer, but also the Soft Tissue and Sport Massage Therapist on site. So welcome to True, and whether you’re rehabilitating from injury, looking to be able to handstand or muscle-up, or simply enjoy a relaxing massage, I look forward to working with you in the future.

Jess

Jess Kirby

Personal Trainer

Specialist areas of interest:

High intensity training, functional fitness and OCR training.

A little background:

I qualified as a personal trainer in April 2020. I love every aspect of fitness; the endorphins, the sweat and the strength I feel. Since qualifying I found that I really enjoyed kettlebell training, therefore I took part in a Kettlercise course with which is strength training mixed with cardio which I love. I am a big fan of taking part in sporting events from obstacle course races to sprint triathlons. As you can probably tell I am a very active person!

How I enjoy training personally:

I have always loved cardio and high intensity workouts with some weight training although I recently joined a CrossFit gym in which I am loving and feel that this is now my favourite way of training as it brings so much power and strength which is really beneficial for me for my sports events, rugby training and games.

My role at True:

My role is to coach our members at True to reach their full potential and to pass on knowledge that will help our members to develop with each workout they take on. My personal message to all members is “Let yourself be open to different ways of training, you never know what you will learn to love and what your body is capable of”.

Anything else important you want to mention:

There is nothing more that I love than to make members work hard and to feel strong and sweaty. I love seeing members progression and the happiness it brings for them.

My role at True:

Shared & 1-1 Personal Trainer. You’re all great!

Anything else important you want to mention:

Just that training should be fun and something to look forward to. A privilege not a chore. Enjoy yourself.
